Gurudwara Tambu Sahib Nankana Sahib

This Gurudwara is about one kilometer from Guru Nanak Janam Asthan.

Mehta kalu, father of Guru Nanak, gave Him Rs. 20/- to start a new business. Guru ji went to Chuharakana to start a business. But instead, he used that money to feed hungry pilgrims (aka Sadhus).

Guru Nanak rested for a while at this place while returning from Chuharakana.

When Mehta Kalu learnt about this at this location, he was annoyed with his son. Later, both went back home, but Mahta Kalu was not happy about this. Guru Nanak explained by saying that He had spent the money in the true business (Sacha Sauda).

Rai Bular pleaded before Mehta Kalu and said that the whole city is blessed by His grace and presence.

Today, a large wild tree stands near this Gurudwara. The tree is so old that its long branches touch the ground.
